Advising

Through the support of willing and successful entrepreneurs and other experts, the laboratory offers counseling on a variety of topics to students, faculty, and staff interested in pursuing buiness ideas in the area of Information Technology. In particular, the laboratory provides students, faculty, and staff with guidance throughout the process of developing a new venture, from idea to launch, and provides advise on topics such as:

  • creating a successful business plan,
  • connecting with experts in the industry, and
  • accessing appropriate funding.

Entrepreneurs and experts are available to answer specific questions and provide personalized support. Additionally, the laboratory provides information about relavant resources for entrepreneurs, available both online and in the community, that will help students, faculty, and staff leverage their business ideas and make them successful.

Advising hours

LITE offers weekly roundtables every Tuesday, from 11am to 12pm in Room 4600, Engineering Building. Each roundtable is structured into two phases. During the first part of the meeting, LITE staff will provide updates on lab activities, discuss general topics, and answer general questions from the public. During the second part of the meeting, and upon request, students will have the opportunity to receive individualized advising from LITE members.

Individual LITE members offer additional advising hours on specific topics, according to the following schedule.

  • Mihai Boicu offers the following advising hours on technical issues. Appointments are strongly recommended. Click here to make an appointment.
    • Fridays, 8:30am-9:30pm, Engineering 4611, Fairfax Campus
    • For other times send an email with 5 dates and large time intervals when you are available (between 9am and 3pm).
  • Massimiliano Albanese offers the following advising hours on technical issues. Email appointments are strongly recommended.

  • Vittoria Aiello offers the following advising hours on business related issues. Email appointments are strongly recommended.
